About the Model Steam Road Vehicle Society Ltd.

The Model Steam Road Vehicle Society Ltd was formed in 1985 to encourage Model Engineering of Steam Road Vehicles, from Live Steam Traction Engines and Wagons through to workshop equipment. In fact, all aspects of Model Engineering is encouraged, although we are one of only a few clubs whose members main interest is road steam rather than rail.

We host an annual Steam Rally during the summer. This is a two day event of Model Road Steam in action as well as other Model Engineering displays in the picturesque town of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Have the chance to run your engine through Tewkesbury & around the Caravan Club tarmac roads, as well as the rally field.  Visitors have the chance to see these amazing road steam models up close and in action, a great family day out!

We actively encourage new members to come along for a chat, whether you already own an engine, are wondering about building or buying an engine or maybe simply have an interest in steam.  We are a friendly club and you are welcome to come along to one of our meetings to see if we fit the bill...no cost, just put a pound into the raffle tin!  Keep a look out here for details of future events and club night activities.

Don't worry if you cannot get to our meetings.  Although we are based in Gloucester, we are a national society with many members all over the UK and even further afield.  You will receive our full colour quarterly journal as well as being in touch with many other steam enthusiasts with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
